Law Office Study Foundation

Privacy Policy

Publication date: October 21, 2026.

Law Office Study Foundation ("LOSF," "we," "us") provides this policy to explain how we handle personal information connected with our websites, lawofficestudy.org and the Law Office Study Center site at lawofficestudy.center (together, the "Sites"), and with our waitlist and interest forms, email, mailing lists, and donations.

1. Scope

This policy covers personal information LOSF collects or receives through the Sites, our waitlist and interest forms, email, mailing lists, and donations. It does not cover the independent practices of the external services described in Section 10 (External services).

Program participation, legal services, and other LOSF activities may come with their own notices or agreements. Where one applies, it governs that activity.

2. Information you give us

Waitlist and interest forms. The Law Office Study Center site invites you to join a waitlist or tell us about your interest in LOSF programs. These forms are hosted by a third-party form provider. When you submit one, we collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name and contact details, your background and interests, and any other information the form requests. Joining a waitlist does not enroll you in a program or guarantee a place. Please do not include sensitive information, such as identification numbers, health information, or confidential legal case details, unless a form specifically asks for it.

Email. When you email LOSF, we receive your email address, your message, and anything you attach. Please do not send confidential legal case details, identification documents, or payment credentials in an initial message.

Mailing list. If you sign up for updates, we collect your email address and any other details you choose to provide.

Donations. Our donation pages are hosted by a third-party donation platform, which processes payments under its own privacy policy and terms. LOSF does not receive your full payment-card or bank-account details. The platform gives LOSF information about each gift, such as the donor's name, contact details, gift amount and date, and any message or preference the donor provides.

3. Information collected automatically

lawofficestudy.org. This site does not use analytics or advertising trackers, and it does not set cookies of its own. It serves its own fonts and images. Our hosting provider processes technical information to deliver and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time of the request.

If you use the motion toggle, the site saves your choice in your browser's local storage under the key losf-rm. The site reads that choice on later visits and does not send it to LOSF.

The Law Office Study Center site. This site runs on a third-party website platform. The platform and the services it uses may set cookies and use similar technologies to deliver pages, measure visits, keep the site secure, and test page versions. These services may collect information such as your IP address, device and browser details, the pages you view, and how you arrived, and some may collect information about your activity over time and across other websites. LOSF does not control how these services use the information they collect.

4. How we use information

We use personal information for the following purposes: (i) reviewing waitlist and interest submissions and contacting you about LOSF programs; (ii) answering messages; (iii) sending updates you asked for; (iv) acknowledging gifts, sending receipts, and keeping financial records; (v) sending fundraising messages to donors; (vi) operating, securing, and improving the Sites; and (vii) meeting legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

5. How we share information

Authorized members of the LOSF team can access personal information when they need it for their work. We do not sell or rent the personal information we receive through our forms, email, or donations, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. Section 3 describes the information that services on the Law Office Study Center site collect directly.

We disclose personal information only in the following cases: (i) to service providers that host the Sites, forms, email, mailing lists, donations, and records for LOSF; (ii) when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of LOSF, the people we serve, or others; and (iii) with your permission.

We do not publish a donor's name without the donor's permission. A donor who gives anonymously is hidden from public view on the donation page, but LOSF still receives the donor's name and contact details.

6. Your choices

Every update and fundraising email from LOSF will include a way to unsubscribe. You can also ask us to stop at info@lawofficestudy.org.

You can change the motion preference with the toggle on lawofficestudy.org, or remove it by clearing that site's local storage in your browser. Clearing cookies alone may not remove local storage. You can block or delete cookies set on the Law Office Study Center site through your browser settings, though some features may then not work.

lawofficestudy.org has no trackers to switch off, so it does not change in response to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. The platform behind the Law Office Study Center site may respond to those signals under its own settings. LOSF does not otherwise respond to Do Not Track signals.

7. Requests about your information

Email info@lawofficestudy.org to ask what personal information LOSF holds about you, to correct or delete it, or to stop optional messages. We will confirm your identity using information we already hold, and we will respond within a reasonable time and as the law requires. We may keep information the law requires us to keep, such as donation records.

Your rights depend on the law that applies to you and the information involved. This policy does not limit any right the law gives you.

8. Retention, security, and location

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in Section 4 (How we use information), including legal, tax, and accounting requirements. We then delete it or remove what identifies you.

We use reasonable safeguards, including limiting access to the LOSF team members who need it. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure.

LOSF operates in the United States. Our service providers may process information in other countries.

9. Children

The Sites are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email info@lawofficestudy.org.

10. External services

The Sites link to services that LOSF does not control, including the donation platform, the form provider, and social media sites. Their own privacy policies govern the information you give them. Please review those policies before you share information.

11. Changes to this policy

We will post changes on this page with a new publication date. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will post a prominent notice on the Sites before the change takes effect. Posting a change does not replace consent where the law requires it.

12. Contact

For questions or requests, email info@lawofficestudy.org.
