Law Office Study Foundation

Terms of Use

Publication date: October 21, 2026.

Law Office Study Foundation ("LOSF") provides these terms ("Terms") for the use of its websites, lawofficestudy.org and the Law Office Study Center site at lawofficestudy.center (together, the "Sites"). By using the Sites, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Sites.

PLEASE READ SECTION 13 (GOVERNING LAW; ARBITRATION). IT REQUIRES MOST DISPUTES WITH LOSF TO BE RESOLVED BY INDIVIDUAL ARBITRATION INSTEAD OF IN COURT, IT GIVES UP JURY TRIALS AND CLASS ACTIONS FOR THOSE DISPUTES, AND IT EXPLAINS HOW YOU CAN OPT OUT.

1. About these Terms; public information

The Sites provide information about LOSF, legal education, technology, and access to law. Visiting the Sites, joining a waitlist, sending a message, or donating does not enroll you in a program, register you for a law-study pathway, or establish eligibility for an apprenticeship, license, or certification.

Program participation is subject to the requirements, notices, and agreements for that program. A description on the Sites does not guarantee admission, funding, placement, employment, a credential, or a professional license.

2. Changes to the Sites and these Terms

LOSF may update the Sites and revise these Terms by posting the revised Terms with a new publication date. Revised Terms apply to use of the Sites after they are posted. A revision does not alter an accepted gift restriction or a separate written agreement. A change to Section 13 (Governing law; arbitration) will not apply to a dispute that either party gave notice of before the change was posted.

3. Access; security

The Sites do not offer account registration. LOSF may take reasonable measures to maintain the Sites and protect them from abuse, including limiting or blocking access that threatens their operation.

4. Intellectual property; content use

The Sites and their content are owned by LOSF or the respective rights holders and are protected by intellectual property law. All rights reserved.

LOSF permits you to view the Sites in your web browser. Any other copying, reproduction, distribution, adaptation, or public display of content from the Sites requires LOSF's written permission, except where the law permits the use without permission, such as fair use or material in the public domain. Request permission at info@lawofficestudy.org. A resource published under a separate license remains subject to that license.

Ordinary linking to public pages and lawful search-engine indexing are permitted. Permission to use content does not include permission to use the LOSF name or logo to imply endorsement. Third-party names, marks, and materials remain subject to their owners' rights.

5. Prohibited uses

Do not use the Sites to break the law, interfere with their operation, distribute malicious code, impersonate LOSF, access nonpublic systems, or collect another person's information without lawful authority.

6. Reliance on information; no legal representation

Content on the Sites provides general information. It is not advice about your legal matter and does not establish an attorney-client relationship. A message or form submission does not establish legal representation or an obligation to accept a matter.

Consult a qualified professional about your own circumstances, and verify deadlines and requirements with the responsible authority.

7. Forms and messages

When you submit a form or send a message, you will provide information that is accurate and that you have the right to share. Do not send confidential case information, identification documents, or payment credentials unless a form specifically asks for them. LOSF handles the information you submit as its privacy policy describes.

8. Donations; external checkout

The donation links direct you to a third-party donation platform. Review the donation page, the transaction details, and the platform's terms and privacy policy before donating. The Sites do not process your payment.

A gift does not purchase a program place, legal representation, or a particular outcome. The donation records or receipts and any separately accepted gift restriction govern the particular gift. These Terms do not create a blanket no-refund rule or authorize a change to an accepted restriction.

Contact info@lawofficestudy.org about a gift error or other donation question. Review tax treatment with your own advisor.

9. External websites

External websites and services have their own terms and privacy practices. LOSF does not control their content, availability, or operation. A link alone does not promise a third party's services, results, or credentials.

10. Privacy

LOSF describes its handling of personal information in its privacy policy. Contact info@lawofficestudy.org with a privacy question or request. These Terms do not waive a privacy right or treat use of the Sites as consent to a use of information that requires separate consent.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE EXTENT THE LAW PERMITS, THE SITES AND THEIR CONTENT ARE PROVIDED AS IS AND AS AVAILABLE. LOSF DOES NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED ACCESS OR THAT ANY CONTENT IS COMPLETE, CURRENT, OR ERROR-FREE. LOSF DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE EXTENT THE LAW PERMITS, LOSF WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SITES, EVEN IF LOSF WAS TOLD THAT SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE.

This section does not limit liability for fraud, willful injury, gross negligence, or a violation of law, or any other liability the law does not allow LOSF to limit. These Terms set no cap on total liability, require no indemnity from you, and do not shorten the time to bring a claim.

13. Governing law; arbitration

(a) Governing law. California law governs these Terms and any dispute arising from or relating to them or the Sites, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The Federal Arbitration Act governs Sections 13(c) through 13(e).

(b) Informal resolution. Before starting an arbitration, the party with a dispute will send the other a written notice describing the dispute and the relief requested, and both parties will try in good faith to resolve it for 30 calendar days. Send notices to LOSF at info@lawofficestudy.org. Any filing deadline is paused during those 30 calendar days.

(c) Arbitration. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or relating to these Terms or the Sites will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, except for the following: (i) an individual claim that qualifies for small claims court; (ii) a claim for an injunction against infringement or misuse of intellectual property; and (iii) a request for public injunctive relief, which a court will decide after any arbitrable claims are resolved. JAMS will administer the arbitration under its Comprehensive Arbitration Rules and Procedures, including its Expedited Procedures, and, where they apply, the JAMS Consumer Arbitration Minimum Standards. LOSF will pay all JAMS fees and arbitrator compensation beyond the amount those standards require you to pay. All proceedings will be conducted remotely by electronic transmission and virtual means, unless you ask for an in-person hearing in the county where you live. The arbitrator decides questions about the scope and enforceability of this Section 13, except that a court decides any question about Section 13(d) or about public injunctive relief.

(d) Class action waiver. You and LOSF will bring claims only in an individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may award relief only to the individual party seeking it and only to the extent needed for that party's individual claim. If a court finds this Section 13(d) unenforceable as to a particular claim or remedy, that claim or remedy alone will be severed and decided by a court after any arbitrable claims are resolved.

(e) Opt-out. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing info@lawofficestudy.org within 30 calendar days after you first use the Sites after these Terms are posted. Include your name and a statement that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect the rest of these Terms.

(f) Courts. Any claim that is not arbitrated will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you and LOSF consent to the jurisdiction of those courts for that purpose.

14. Waiver and severability

If LOSF does not enforce a provision on one occasion, that alone does not waive its ability to enforce it later.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions apply to the extent the law permits. Nothing in these Terms overrides a right or protection that cannot lawfully be waived.
